Everyone I knew said it was a bad thing when the concept was first introduced. Whoever heard of reading a book on an electronic device? People have always loved the look of a book, the vibrant cover design, and the feel of a book as they physically turned pages. It would never work, they said.
Until they started using an e-reader. Then, magically, they found books became so portable. They weren’t heavy to carry around. E-readers didn’t occupy shelf space. They cost less.
And now, reading electronic books is commonplace. Just watch travelers on a plane. When I travel, I use my e-reader too.
To me, as a school teacher and a parent, it makes perfect sense for the class yearbook to go digital.
SchoolFlicker’s paperless yearbook for schools has all the same advantages of an e-reader plus much, much more. This yearbook online includes audio and video capabilities – something no traditional yearbook can provide. It includes a record of special events in the school. I know for sure that the youngsters will love these new SchoolFlicker yearbooks our school has adopted.
The parents may not love it now, but they will when they see how much (or rather how little) they cost! They are bound to, because it’s SchoolFlicker, the paperless yearbook.
